Hey everyone!!
First things first, I’d like to credit the wonderful Ema Malyauka who recently did an ink tool testing video over on her patreon (linked below) - the inspiration for my video. Ema has made a more extensive testing session that mine here (I’d highly recommend watching), but after seeing her use the Kakimori brass nib I had to purchase one for myself and test it out! Here’s what materials I tested.
At first I wasn’t blown away by the Kakimori brass nib - I worried that it was bleeding too much into the paper (which is my main gripe with a standard scratchy dip pen). However, after filming this review I went onto join Sarah Dyer’s patreon drawing session, and opted to use the kakimori nib for two drawings, and then my paintbrush for the second two.

I was so pleased by how easy it was to use, and how I didn’t have to re-dip the pen once throughout each piece. On close inspection sure there is a bit of bleeding but compared to a standard dip pen nib, it glides on the paper and doesn’t get caught/splatter.

Now let’s talk about this beautiful blue ink I’m using.
